Then I stood there before the Madonna and was already over fifty years old. Why had it taken so long? Why? In that time I created my eternity. The impending destruction of my Jerusalem caused a moaning in me. Mourning and waiting and hoping I tarried in an eternal sound which was to make me the master of every past and future. So I came into the perfection in which I live. In this perfection the elixir of immortality is created. |
